What does a Management
Accountant do?
|
|
|
In the
present global competitive environment, managers of business
organizations require timely, relevant and accurate
information for a variety of strategic and operational
decisions. Traditional cost and management accounting
techniques have been subjected to a great deal of criticism as
being ”not in tune” with the changes taking place in the
global manufacturing and marketing environment, and incapable
of providing relevant, accurate and timely information to
fulfill the needs of modern management |
|
|
|
New
technology and management philosophies have changed the nature
of competition-with firms need to be able to respond rapidly
to market demands. The focus of management accounting must
move beyond summary financial measures of manufacturing
operations if it is to maintain its central evaluation and
control role. |
|
|
Management
accountants are no longer only scorekeepers of past
performance. They have become value-adding members of
management teams, creating information vital for enhancing
operational excellence, and for formulating and implementing
new strategies. |
